PROJECT SHOWCASE: EUROPEAN GRANDEUR By Nicole Kow
The pride we have for being a design & build company is working closely with the clients to lend a hand in creating a home that they envision coupled with our expertise in space planning, practical design conceptualization and project management. This approximately 5,500 sq. ft. detached home with a current estimated built-up of 6,000 sq. ft. was no different. Our clients of this home requested for an elegant abode that reflected a European fusion of classical and colonial architecture.
Attention to detail starts right from its exterior translated through a selection of elongated window profiles and ornamental moulding. Fan lights placed above the French style windows enhance the vision of colonial homes and act as an additional source for sun rays to radiate into the home. In addition, the wide roof profile enhances the stature of its exterior.
When classical architecture comes to mind the words grandeur and opulence are usually synonymous of this style. This home is just that. The common spaces upon entering are luxuriously spacious and beautifully enhanced by the homeowners' decor selections, matching the theme to a tee.
A split level distinguishes two living spaces from the dining hall. Plaster mouldings continue to make an appearance throughout the walls and ceilings dressing up the various spaces.
Tucked behind the dining hall, a door reveals a rich mahogany hued kitchen. Beautifully sized, wood cabinetry line the walls which surround an island counter top in a horseshoe styled kitchen layout.
Another surprise awaits behind the staircase where a powder room is discreetly located.
Arriving at the second floor, another communal living space becomes the hub that centres the surrounding bedrooms.
Each bedroom is spacious and rich in wood cabinetry and flooring.
The master bedroom however takes the cake with its suite-style layout that includes a bed space, seating area as well as a gorgeous walk-in wardrobe and a sophisticated bathroom that mirrors a luxe European styled hotel room.
An added feature comes from its private water closet that remains out of sight for the most bit.
Walking up the final flight of stairs brings attention to the details of the window profiles. A massive size window with lattice detailing and fanlight is a brilliant addition to light up a stairwell naturally.
Located on the top floor, a blue and ivory room makes for a lovely guestroom.
A final highlight of the home comes in the form of an indoor gym. Roomy enough to include an array of machines complete with padded flooring and an ensuite bathroom shows how rooms easily have the potential to function more than just a bedroom.
A visual joy to photograph, much forethought was put into the home both pre-build and post. Seeing how much effort homeowners put in after handover, falls much in line with our belief which is to design and build lifestyle homes to be proud of
