5 WAYS TO LEVEL UP YOUR BATHROOM DESIGN (September 2022/Issue 148)
Whether its elegant, modern or eclectic, bathrooms have so much potential for creative play. A space that is given more design forethought these days, there are ways to up the style factor when remodelling your bathroom. This issue we take a look at five ways to do so.
- Feature Tiles
- Extended Mirror
A mirror is a staple accessory of every bathroom. Instead of opting for a compact mirror piece, installing an extended version along the wall of the vanity counter or even past it can give the illusion of depth to the space.
- Floating Vanity
Floating vanity countertops are a modern and sleek option. The fact that they are floating gives you room to truly get creative with your flooring as they are more exposed. In addition, floating vanity countertops enhance the spaciousness of the bathroom with a larger visual field of the floor.
- Concealed Water Closet
The toilet bowl is probably the least visually desirable accessory of a bathroom so why not find a way to conceal it. Creating a private water closet within the bathroom (if space permits) to house a toilet can be visually appealing as well as a conducive place to take care of business. Alternatively, concealing its view with a half wall or divider can be another way to keep it tucked away from plain sight.
- Cove Lighting
Lighting plays a big part in a bathroom in a practical sense but it can do so in a design perspective too. Cove lighting is usually concealed and illuminates a portion that makes the space inviting and aesthetically appealing. Placing cove lighting along a mirror or even under a floating vanity countertop highlights the space and enhances the ambience with a glow.
