We want to say a big “THANK YOU!” to you and your team at Nic & Wes. Building a house is one of the most complicated things we have done; it would not have been possible without your team’s professionalism and dogged determination to get it completed.
From the initial architectural designs, to the submissions, to the demolitions and subsequent reconstructions, it was good that we were working with the same team. Having each design amendment submitted to BCA, working to get the NEA and PUB approvals, and then working around the COVID workplace requirements needed a professional team to accomplish, and I must say that you have made it painless and almost transparent to me. Indeed, I would never have imagined that even NParks and the LTA had a say in building a house (stupid lemon tree ;-p)
In terms of design, you took our desire for a Pondicherry French-Tamilian inspired theme and worked it into a modern look that blends into the neighbourhood. Inside we had a large light and air well and a ventilated jack roof that allows air circulation and keeps the house cool. The frosted glass of the light well was a very good idea; there are no dark corners in my interterrace house.
You and your team managed the neighbours’ expectations and grouses all through the project and including the unseen delays; I am astounded by the lengths you went to keep them happy. For this, we will be forever grateful. We know we have the right builder when our neighbour compliments you (to us) for being responsive and quickly correcting any minor damage or issues that happens when we are reconstructing an inter-terrace house.
My specific thanks to Mr Somu for working around all the construction issues and to Sudha for making things work on the ground. A special shout out to Udaykumar, electrician extraordinaire, he has certainly made the electrical works robust and future proof (think solar panels or EV).
We have no hesitation in recommending Nic & Wes. As a full design-and-build concept company, you walked us through the whole process as partners, sticking with us through thick and thin, till the very end and beyond. We now have a bright, cool and airy new home that we cannot wait to fill with family and memories.

We purchased an old property with the naïve intent of building a new house and went down the traditional path of selecting architects, builders, designers etc and soon realized it wasn’t going to be anywhere as easy or rewarding as originally hoped. By good fortune we came across your company and from the first meeting we had we realized quickly that your approach was not like the others we had dealt with nor was it going to be complex or painful. In fact, it became one of the most enjoyable and rewarding things we have done and we are extremely proud of our new home.

The best thing about working with Askae is that nothing was too difficult or inconvenient.
As I can only speak English, I was at first worried that I wouldn’t be able to communicate with the project manager as most contractors are Chinese speaking. I was very relieved that I could communicate easily with Askae. I had many questions about various materials and he was very patient and clear in explaining them to me. Better still, he was able to help me communicate to Chinese-speaking suppliers. But the best thing about working with Askae is that nothing was too difficult or inconvenient.
Even though we kept adding to the list of jobs to be done (when the renovations were close to completion), he patiently agreed. I also appreciated the little things he did such as hanging the curtains in our attic or waiting in the house for deliveries even though he didn’t have to.
I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who would like to renovate their home.

After shortlisting 3 companies and checking with several references I went with Nic & Wes to re construct a one story bungalow into a part two story with a home concept of inside/outside living. The final result was excellent and I am was very pleased with the Nic & Wes team from start to finish.
Always polite, good integrity, accepted changes from plan during building and in my opinion run a very good company with the very top service levels. Due to my time constraints at my own work and knowing I would not have that much time to overlook everything I liked the one stop shop concept to assist with design, architects, builders etc… I also had the comfort level that all various skills sets will be working with each other and I just wanted a few contact people during the years project. My closest contact was with Brian, Roy, Jeffrey, Eileen and Somu all of which were very professional and very pleasant to deal with. If you have the chance to select the hands on Site Engineer I would thoroughly recommend ‘Somu’. Though I have heard the others are just as good.
Somu was very professional is laying out what can and cannot be done, with no short cuts both wanting to please the client and advising the client what was not recommended for a long term basis. He had great control on the site and the entire team of workers which should not be taken for granted in any industry (i.e builders, painters, tilers, wood expert, Electrical, Swimming pool/Garden/ Pond company etc..) and many others whose names I cannot recall. As with any new building and once moving in I have found a few minor workman faults, As expected with Brian and his team without hesitation corrected then and continue to share their expertise and experience in any questions I have.

First of all we would like commend and praise Askae for his excellent work. It has been a true pleasure working with him, and he remained unflappable throughout the entire complex process, even when we bombarded him with changes and additional requests. He got everything done on time enabling us to move in as scheduled, despite some last-minutes changes we requested. Above all though it is obvious that he and his father truly take pride in their work, and that shows in the results. This is an invaluable quality and rare to find these days. The attention to detail and quality was amazing. Jeff also showed great patience and forbearance in helping us with the design, even to the point of coming over at very short notice on a late Saturday afternoon to the lighting shop when we encountered problems.
Most of the external parties that Askae introduced us to were also pleasant to deal with: Tri-Tech for security and Nathan for landscaping, although we were less impressed with Sam for the curtains, but even that was resolved in the end.
We are very happy with the way everything turned out, from the expanded kitchen to the roof terrace and the house is a joy to live in. While the flooding came as an unpleasant surprise we think you handled it well and it showed the professionalism of the way you run your company. Having said that, we are well and truly done with renovations for the time being and intend to enjoy the house as is!
However, should we need any further work to be done, either here or in the more distant future at our next house, we very much hope we can engage your services once again.

Nic & Wes was very professional.
Their in-house designer Bob was very thorough in his work and even gave up his weekends to look for fixtures and tiles at several shops with us so we could get the best deals. Their in-house contractor Asake also did an great job, and he knew exactly what we wanted, like customised lighting settings and a statement stripe kitchen floors with little spaces between the tiles.
We also changed the position of our build-in living room cabinets at the very last minute, and wanted the television mounted on them with a movable wall mount. We were able to successfully plan it out, and Bob and Askae created a statement look for our living room.
Even their after-care service is excellent. We had a few hiccups after the reno like cracked paint and painted white walls which did not match the original colour by HDB, and it was fixed within a few days. They respond very quickly and are contactable at all times.

While major remodeling is inherently stressful for almost any homeowner, their services as a

1. Quality of work performed. The quality of work done was consistently top notch. Project manager used subcontractors who were knowledgeable, skilled, and competent in their respective trades. They were conscientious about following project specifications, and their work product rarely needed refinements.

Their pride in their work was evident. They tidied up at the end of each workday ensuring site visits were conducive and safe.

To whoever is reading this, you must be like my Wife and I, wanting to improve our home.
In 2002, as usual we received my flyers from contractors and professional Builders in our mail box.
We had a vague idea to rebuilt our 38 year old single story home, as our neighbours were rebuilding theirs as well.
We compared notes with our neighbours and had a few recommendations. We also kept a few flyers that we received. We decided to call on 2 recommended Builders and 2 mentioned in the flyers quite reluctantly. Nic and Wes was one of the flyers.
We received ideas and quotations from all 4 of them. We shortlisted 2 of them, one of them was Nic and Wes. We liked their ideas and disposition. However, Nic and Wes quotation was slightly higher than the other builder.
