Builders are probably not seen as a type of artist and yet that is far from the truth. Being part of the second generation of Nic & Wes, as well someone who has lived a relatively creative lifestyle, I’ve seen the intricacies of our design & build procurement. The many skills that collectively turn a visual idea into a tangible reality. The hours of bringing ideas together and fine-tuning them before they are given the green light. The men who have left their homes in India and Bangladesh to come here to use the skills they have acquired to provide for their families. Essentially the skills that most of us don’t even have. Yet, the builders are probably taken the least seriously.

When the founders Brian and Jude started Nic & Wes back in 2002, they had already garnered years of hands-on experience project managing their past homes. At that time, they were the clients and like the playbook of many homeowners’ past experience, they went through the good and they went through the bad as well. But those years of being actively involved in project managing their homes gave them the knowledge of what to look out for, how to work around the box of home-building and gave the to confidence to conceptualise and experiment with unusual elements which in the early days of Nic & Wes were not seen in most residential homes.

As the company developed, so did their team of skilled workers, designers, project managers. Each one that on their own are essentially an artist that leaves an imprint in every home they work on. At Nic & Wes we have always strived to build homes not houses. We don’t just look at the practical but the heart as well. Our ethos has always been family-centric and the homes that we design & build to pull the family together. Our clients understand and relate to that.

Each home that we take on is a reflection firstly of the family that will reside there but, it is also that of each person that worked on it and it is also a reflection of the Nic & Wes family as a whole. The home-build journey is such an intricate process with so many moving parts and for many, it can be a nightmarish experience which leaves you stressed, frustrated and spending more than you initially agreed to. So, what makes Nic & Wes different?

To put it plainly, we’ve been there and we don’t want you to. I strongly believe that above design, the execution is a crucial component in any field of production which is in reality has the least precedence in a homeowner’s purview. Remember that the execution equates the final product, and if not done properly, it is essentially a waste of the design ideas. Our years of experience has taught us how to simplify and fine-tune the process so you don’t have to worry. Our team is not only skilled, they are experienced with many key staff schooled in the industry including architecture and engineering. That knowledge coupled with experience and expertise gives us the confidence to solve problems so, you don’t have to.
