Issue 132 we toured the interiors of one of our recent Lifestyle Homes that drew inspiration from an iconic local dish, The Chilli Crab. This issue and part two of this home walkthrough, we showcase the features from an exterior angle.

Situated along a main road, this chic ultramodern lifestyle home is a showstopper. Distinct in profile, unique in design, the inspiration of the crab stems from the curved feature depicting the claw.

With its broad frontage and slightly elevated land profile, the grandeur of the home in its monochromatic palette basks in the contrasting greens of the turf.

A sliding laser cut gate mimics foliage and is reminiscent of luscious seaweed moving to the currents on a seafloor.

The boundary wall features an undulated wave-like flow with a juxtaposition of stone and glass.

To the side, a stone wall leads into the side entrance and becomes an ideal location for the DB box and mailbox. Like entering a secret cave, the side entrance is a gorgeous walkthrough that reveals the splendour of this bespoke bungalow.

Much like its façade, the main entrance too is created with grandeur in mind. To reach the entrance, one must ascend a set of stairs that sit atop of a Koi fish pond before facing an elongated door.

To the side of the home, another set of stairs lead to a grass patch that shares space with a beautiful turquoise L-shaped pool that skirts  from the front to the side of the home.

Throughout the exterior, curves are a trending design feature. From the “claw” to the pool’s shape to these ivory hued curves that cleverly conceal a set of windows. This decorative addition breaks from the conventional façade profile.

Like the decorative curves at the side of the home, a laser cut sheet in the same foliage design as the front gate majestically camouflages and decorates a plain wall with a window.

Details play such an important part in the way a home looks. With this lifestyle home, it was a welcoming challenge for our team to embark on which took many conceptualised designs that lead to its current evolution. This home like each and every Nic & Wes project prioritises getting it right for our clients; The homeowners who will be occupying the home. It is essential that they connect with the home in a way that will reflect their taste and lifestyle. At the end of the day, our mission is and will always be designing and building lifestyle homes to be proud of.
